Brand Session for Tampa Florist

Something a little different for you today: a brand session for Tampa florist Tiesha Watson, also known as @the_hostess_table on socials. Weddings and couples sessions definitely make up the bulk of my work. However, it’s a treat when I get to support a fellow small-business owner. Especially one as fun and bubbly as Tiesha!

The vision

The Apostolic Wife stepped in to help design this brand session. Her vision was light, elegant and approachable to help propel The Hostess Table into a more luxurious “fine art” wedding and party market. She’s a self-taught wedding and event florist, but you can tell she really has an eye and a talent for design. Her work is gorgeous, delicate, and organic! Obviously, you can really see how much joy this brings her.

As a florist, I imagine picking a favorite flower is like picking your favorite child. But, I asked Tiesha what she’s partial to and she said sweet peas! (Did anyone else use Sweet Pea body wash back in the day from Bath and Body Works?! I’m guilty!!) Accordingly, I wanted to capture a lot of those details here for her.

The details

She opted for my full two-hour package, which was hosted at an airy, minimalist studio space. The brand session, as previously mentioned, was designed by Angelina Colhouer, a luxury wedding planner with The Apostolic Wife. Angelina always has an emphasis on light, classy, and organic design and this brand shoot was no exception. She styled the flat lay details of the florals. It also featured table decor from Oak and Ash Events, a local event rentals company.

We made the most of our 2 hours for this up-and-coming Tampa florist,  despite those famous Tampa thunderstorms! You’d never know the lighting was all over the place that day though, since I have a lot of experience with shooting in those tough scenarios. Happily, hard work pays off and studying various light and flash scenarios allows me to photographer under any condition. Tiesha and I (and all the other small business owners out there) know better than anyone that preparation and practice are key!

What’s next

I can’t wait to see Tiesha’s business grow and bloom. We jammed to the Hamilton soundtrack during this session, and as they say she’s “not throwing away her shot!!” But first, here’s just a glimpse into this dreamy brand session for a Tampa florist.
