Hannah and Abdul’s elegant Lakeland engagement session was one of my favorites of all time. I can’t stop scrolling through these photos and reliving this day! How gorgeous is this couple, and how palpable is their love for each other? Hannah told me she thought they’d be so awkward in front of the camera, but wow, was she wrong, haha! These two are natural models. You can really see how genuinely happy they are to be with each other, and how excited they were for their big day.
Originally, the couple met in undergrad, and something immediately clicked between them. Fast forward a couples years, and they’ve both just graduated from dental school (I mean, those perfect smiles!) and moved back to Tampa. They had their wedding reception this June at the Tampa Hilton and oh my gosh, Hannah and Abdul looked absolutely stunning. For cultural and religious reasons we won’t be showing their wedding portraits or getting ready photos, but just know that they looked like a dream!!
We chose two locations for their engagement session, since we wanted to capture two different styles. First up: Lake Mirror in Lakeland, which is a great location with fancy and European-style architecture for stunning portraits. I can’t get over those arches and wrought-iron gates. What a beautiful backdrop for this elegant Lakeland engagement session! At Lake Mirror we showed off Hannah’s customized ASOS abaya (an Ararbic gown) complete with a pearled-bridal cape. I feature a lot of pearls and bows on my Instagram, therefore Hannah knew I’d be head over heels for these beautiful little details. She was so right! I mean, come on, it’s stunning and such a fun, bridal twist on a cultural dress. This was also her outfit to leave their wedding reception, which I love that she re-used to show off again.
For the next stop, we wanted something a little more casual and relaxed. Florida Southern College Campus is known for their rose gardens and Frank Lloyd Wright architecture. It was the perfect spot for something a little more sweet and charming. How incredible are that fountain and those trellises?
Hannah and Abdul’s beautiful Arabic wedding was in early June at the Tampa Hilton Downtown. I’ll share some decor and detail photos from their day soon, but it included a stunning pearl ballgown, navy and gold decor accents, and a traditional Arabic wedding entrance with Zaffa drummers.
I’m so excited for Hannah and Abdul’s to begin their married life — and to see what’s next for them in this beautiful adventure.
