Eden and C.W’s classic Southern wedding was an absolute dream to be a part of. From the blue jeans, to the Spanish moss, and all of the elegant details in-between, these photos will make you swoon — and maybe break out your hats and cowboy boots.
Simpson Lakes, in Dade City, Florida, is one of my favorite newer venues, but especially for a classic Southern wedding. It’s a huge property, full of gorgeous trees filled with Spanish moss, lakes, and stunning Florida country views. Its all-white and modern aesthetic has over 100 acres of sprawling woodlands, and really beautiful and well-designed bride and groom suites. (Fun fact: all of the framed photos in the Simpson Lakes bathrooms are mine!)
The couple met at a cattle ranchers’ conference a couple years ago. Guess what happened. Before you know it, thanks to a little liquid courage, the two struck up a conversation and learned that they share similar values: faith, and family.
Family was central to this classic Southern wedding on this gorgeous spring day at Simpson Lakes. Her grandmother prayed over her before the ceremony with her mother and bridesmaids. Most of Eden’s jewelry was extra special because it was passed down from relatives, including those beautiful pearl earrings you see below. These were a gift from her late great-grandmother.
There were quiet moments of prayer to lift the couple up in their faith, but there were also so many moments of joy, laughter, and fun. You can always count on C.W to give you a good laugh, and especially during portrait time!
Just look at those smiles — you can’t fake that! amazing, isn’t it?
After the ceremony, it was time to show off those line dancing skills. We broke out the feather boas and streamers, and then it was off to Texas for a honeymoon among the bluebonnets. Unfortunately, they did not let me tag along for that 🙂
