Stylish Florida Waterfront Wedding

Cabrea and Hayward’s stylish Florida waterfront wedding pulled out all the stops! It was such an honor to be able to capture so many special moments for them and I immediately felt like I had known them forever.

Their story

From the beginning, it was an emotional day. Unfortunately, many of the life-changing women in Cabrea’s life, including her sweet mom, have passed away. Because of this, she and her Aunt are incredibly close. I’ll never forget her Auntie’s tears as she saw Cabrea all dressed up in her wedding gown. I also loved that Cabrea’s brooch bouquet featured photos of the women who had played such an important role in her life, but couldn’t be with them. Having those ladies’ spirits nearby her when she got married was everything. 

Family played a big part in the ceremony in other ways, too. Their uncle, a pastor, married them, and their cousin, Jada, planned the whole stylish Florida waterfront wedding! The Boca Ciega Ballroom in St. Petersburg is such a lovely spot for a waterfront ceremony and a fun party afterwards. The arch from Gabro Event Rentals, that view, those lights! Swoon. However, the venue does not come with a dapper saxophone player. You’ll have to talk to the couple to see if they can introduce you 🙂 

The stylish details

Both Cabrea and Hayward have such great, unique, style, and I loved their accessories, especially Hayward’s glasses! How effortlessly cool does he look? The couple’s turquoise and pink theme was on display in every detail. From the bouquet, to the cake — and cupcake — accents, to the flower wall and neon sign, and more! As you can see, a good color scheme can really make a difference. Most especially, I loved seeing the bridesmaids’ shade of pink complementing Hayward’s deep turquoise suit. Weaving in those color details really brings the entire story of the day together.

My favorite portraits of the couple from this waterfront wedding? I love the one with the bride’s long cathedral veil floating in the wind, with the twinkle light backdrop. And finally, I loved seeing Hayward’s giant smile as he saw Cabrea for the first time, walking down the aisle. That smile is everything.
